1 Двадцятого й сьомого року Єровоама, Ізраїлевого царя, зацарював Аза́рія, син Амації, Юдиного царя.

2 Він був віку шістнадцяти літ, коли зацарював, і царював в Єрусалимі п'ятдеся́т і два роки. А ім'я́ його матері — Єхолія, з Єрусалиму.

3 І робив він угодне в Господніх оча́х, усе так, як робив його батько Амація.

4 Тільки па́гірки не були знищені, — народ ще прино́сив жертву та кадив на па́гірках.

5 І вдарив Господь царя, і він був прокаже́ний аж до дня своєї смерти, і сидів ув осібному домі. А над домом був Йотам, царів син, — він судив народ Кра́ю.

6 А решта діл Азарії та все, що він робив, — ось вони написані в Книзі Хроніки Юдиних царів.

7 І спочив Азарія з своїми батьками, і його поховали з його батьками в Давидовому Місті, а замість нього зацарював син його Йотам.

8 Тридцятого й восьмого року Азарії, Юдиного царя, зацарював над Ізраїлем у Самарії Захарій, син Єровоама, на шість місяців.

9 І робив він зле в Господніх оча́х, як робили батьки його, — не відступився від гріхів Єровоама, Неватового сина, що вводив у гріх Ізраїля.

10 І вчинив змову на нього Шаллум, Явешів син, і бив його перед наро́дом і вбив його, і зацарював замість нього.

12 Оце Господнє слово, що Він промовляв до Єгу, говорячи: „Сини чотирьох поколінь будуть сидіти тобі на Ізраїлевому троні“. І сталося так.

13 Шаллу́м, Явешів син, зацарював тридцятого й дев'ятого року Уззійї, Юдиного царя, і царював місяць ча́су в Самарії.

14 І пішов Менахе́м, Ґадіїв син, з Тірци, і прибув у Самарію, та й побив Шаллума, Явешового сина, в Самарії, і вбив його, і зацарював замість нього.

16 Тоді побив Менахем місто Тіфсах та все, що в ньому, і границі його від Тірци, бо не відчини́ло воно брами. І він вибив його, а все вагітне́ повитина́в.

17 Тридцятого й дев'ятого року Азарії, Юдиного царя, зацарював над Ізраїлем у Самарії Менахем, Ґадіїв син, на десять літ.

18 І робив він зле в Господніх оча́х, не вступився від гріхів Єровоама, Неватового сина, що вводив у гріх Ізраїля. За його днів

19 прийшов Пул, асирійський цар, на край. І дав Менахем Пулові тисячу талантів срібла, щоб його руки були з ним, щоб зміцнити царство в його руці.

20 А Менахем розклав це срібло на Ізраїля, на всіх воякі́в, щоб дати асирійському цареві, по п'ятдесят шеклів срібла від кожного чоловіка. І вернувся асирійський цар, і не стояв там у Краю́.

29 За днів Пекаха, Ізраїлевого царя, прийшов Тіґлат-Піл'есер, цар асирійський, і взяв Іййона, і Авел-Бет-Мааху, і Йоноаха, і Кедеша, і Хацора, і Ґілеада, і Ґаліла, увесь край Нефталимів, та й вигнав їх до Асирії.

30 А Осі́я, син Елин, склав змову на Пекаха, сина Ремалії, і вдарив його та й убив його, і зацарював замість нього двадцятого року Йотама, Уззійїного сина.

31 А решта діл Пекаха та все, що́ він зробив, — ото вони написані в Книзі Хроніки Ізраїлевих царів.

32 Другого року Пекаха, сина Ремалії, Ізраїлевого царя, зацарював Йотам, син Уззійї, Юдиного царя.

33 Він був віку двадцяти й п'яти років, коли зацарював, і шістнадцять літ царював в Єрусалимі. А ім'я́ його матері — Єруша, Садокова дочка́.

34 І робив він угодне в Господніх оча́х, — усе, що робив був його батько Уззійя, робив він.

35 Тільки па́гірки не були знищені, — наро́д іще прино́сив жертви та кадив на па́гірках. Він збудував горі́шню браму Господнього дому.

37 За тих днів зачав Господь посилати на Юду Реціна, сирійського царя, та Пекаха, сина Ремалії.

Chapter 15

1 IN the twenty-seventh year of Jeroboam king of Israel, Uzziah the son of Amaziah king of Judah, began to reign.

2 He was sixteen years old when he began to reign, and he reigned fifty-two years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Jechoaniah of Jerusalem.

3 And he did that which was right in the sight of the LORD, according to all that his father Amaziah had done;

4 But the temple of idols he did not remove; the people still sacrificed and burned incense on the high places.

5 And the LORD smote the king, so that he was a leper to the day of his death, and he dwelt in a house in seclusion. And Jotham the king's son was over the house, judging the people of the land.

6 Now the rest of the acts of Uzziah and all that he did, behold, they are written in the book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Judah.

7 So Uzziah slept with his fathers; and they buried him with his fathers in the city of David; and Jotham his son reigned in his stead.

8 In the thirty-eighth year of Uzziah king of Judah, Zachariah the son of Jeroboam reigned over Israel in Samaria six months.

9 And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, as his father hath done; he did not turn aside from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel sin.

10 And Shallum the son of Jabesh conspired against him and smote him before the people and killed him, and reigned in his stead.

11 And the rest of the acts of Zachariah, behold, they are written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel.

12 Thus was fulfilled the word of the LORD which he spoke to Jehu, saying, Your sons shall sit on the throne of Israel to the fourth generation. And so it came to pass.

13 Shallum the son of Jabesh began to reign in the thirty-ninth year of Uzziah king of Judah; and he reigned a full month in Samaria.

14 For Menahem the son of Gadi went up from Tirzah and came to Samaria and smote Shallum the son of Jabesh in Samaria, and slew him and reigned in his stead.

15 Now the rest of the acts of Shallum and the conspiracy which he made, behold, they are written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel.

16 Then Menahem smote Tiphsah and all who were in it and the territory thereof from Tirzah; because they did not open the gate to him, therefore he smote it; and he ripped up all the women in it that were with child.

17 In the thirty-ninth year of Uzziah king of Judah, Menahem the son of Gadi began to reign over Israel and he reigned ten years in Samaria.

18 And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD; he did not turn aside all his days from all the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel sin.

19 And Pul the king of Assyria came against the land; and Menahem gave Pul a thousand talents of silver to help him and to confirm the kingdom in his hand.

20 And Menahem levied taxes upon Israel, even on all wealthy men of the land, each man fifty shekels of silver, to give to the king of Assyria. So the king of Assyria turned back and stayed not there in the land.

21 And the rest of the acts of Menahem and all that he did, behold, they are written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel.

22 And Menahem slept with his fathers; and Pekahiah his son reigned in his stead.

23 In the fiftieth year of Uzziah king of Judah, Pekahiah the son of Menahem began to reign over Israel in Samaria, and he reigned two years.

24 And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD; he did not turn aside from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel sin.

25 But Pekah the son of Romaliah, his mighty man, conspired against him and slew him in Samaria in the palace of the king's house; he took with him Argob and Lani and fifty men of the Gileadites, and he killed him and reigned in his stead.

26 And the rest of the acts of Pekahiah and all that he did, behold, they are written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel.

27 In the fifty-second year of Uzziah king of Judah, Pekah the son of Romaliah began to reign over Israel in Samaria, and he reigned twenty years.

28 And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD; he did not turn aside from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel sin.

29 In the days of Pekah king of Israel, Tiglath-pileser king of Assyria came and took Ijon, Abel, Mehola, and all Beth-maachah, and Niah, Kedesh, Hazor, Gilead, and Galilee, and all the land of Naphtali, and carried the people captive to Assyria.

30 And Hoshea the son of Elah made a conspiracy against Pekah the son of Romaliah, and smote him and slew him and reigned in his stead in the second year of Jotham the son of Uzziah.

31 And the rest of the acts of Pekah and all that he did, behold, they are written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel.

32 In the second year of Pekah the son of Romaliah king of Israel, Jotham the son of Uzziah king of Judah, began to reign.

33 He was twenty-five years old when he began to reign, and he reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Jerusha, the daughter of Zadok.

34 And he did that which was right in the sight of the LORD, according to all that his father Uzziah had done.

35 But the temple of idols he did not remove; the people sacrificed and burned incense still on the high places. He built the upper gate of the house of the LORD.

36 Now the rest of the acts of Jotham and all that he did, behold, they are written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Judah.

37 In those days the LORD began to provoke against Judah Rezin the king of Aram and Pekah the son of Romaliah.

38 And Jotham slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David; and Ahaz his son reigned in his stead.

12 Оце Господнє слово, що Він промовляв до Єгу, говорячи: „Сини чотирьох поколінь будуть сидіти тобі на Ізраїлевому троні“. І сталося так.

12 Thus was fulfilled the word of the LORD which he spoke to Jehu, saying, Your sons shall sit on the throne of Israel to the fourth generation. And so it came to pass.

14 For Menahem the son of Gadi went up from Tirzah and came to Samaria and smote Shallum the son of Jabesh in Samaria, and slew him and reigned in his stead.

18 And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD; he did not turn aside all his days from all the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel sin.

19 прийшов Пул, асирійський цар, на край. І дав Менахем Пулові тисячу талантів срібла, щоб його руки були з ним, щоб зміцнити царство в його руці.

19 And Pul the king of Assyria came against the land; and Menahem gave Pul a thousand talents of silver to help him and to confirm the kingdom in his hand.

20 А Менахем розклав це срібло на Ізраїля, на всіх воякі́в, щоб дати асирійському цареві, по п'ятдесят шеклів срібла від кожного чоловіка. І вернувся асирійський цар, і не стояв там у Краю́.

28 And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD; he did not turn aside from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel sin.

29 За днів Пекаха, Ізраїлевого царя, прийшов Тіґлат-Піл'есер, цар асирійський, і взяв Іййона, і Авел-Бет-Мааху, і Йоноаха, і Кедеша, і Хацора, і Ґілеада, і Ґаліла, увесь край Нефталимів, та й вигнав їх до Асирії.

32 In the second year of Pekah the son of Romaliah king of Israel, Jotham the son of Uzziah king of Judah, began to reign.

33 Він був віку двадцяти й п'яти років, коли зацарював, і шістнадцять літ царював в Єрусалимі. А ім'я́ його матері — Єруша, Садокова дочка́.

33 He was twenty-five years old when he began to reign, and he reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Jerusha, the daughter of Zadok.
